Dropout Prevention Bridge Event
Dropout Prevention Bridge Event

REL Mid-Atlantic and the High Point Regional School District, Sussex, NJ, are co-hosting an in-person Bridge Event based on the What Works Clearinghouse practice guide Dropout Prevention (2008).

The event will be led by Dr. Russell Rumberger, a co-author of the practice guide, founder and director of the California Dropout Research Project, and Professor of Education, UC Santa Barbara.

Dr. Rumberger will discuss recommendations that focus on reducing dropout rates and engage attendees in discussions about how to identify and advocate for at-risk students and keep students engaged in schools.

The event will enable attendees to plan and implement research-based dropout prevention interventions in their districts.

Bridge Event Goals:

  • To help attendees become familiar with the recommendations of the Dropout Prevention practice guide
  • To enable participants to identify specific strategies for implementing targeted individual and school-wide dropout prevention interventions
  • To help attendees develop a strategic plan to implement one or more practice guide recommendations and identify next steps
